Online Personal Safety Seminar and Test Presented in Conjunction with Motorsport Safety Ltd.

The Midas Speedway New Zealand Board has endorsed this new procedure as a means of compulsory education to provide improved ‘safe practices’ for all of our competitors. This online test will educate competitors as to their product choices, the maintenance of their safety equipment and available outlets for such equipment.

After a number of years of running voluntary safety seminars around the country we believe the message was only reaching a minority of competitor’s due to low attendance numbers at these safety seminars.

This new compulsory procedure ensures that all licenced competitors will be educated to their individual safety options and the possible consequences of neglecting this responsibility.

As a result of today’s Work Safe legislation it is in part the Midas SNZ Boards responsibility to provide education to our competitors and all others involved in Speedway as to best practise safety procedures. We are confident that this is an excellent first step in improving competitor knowledge.

For Competitors to do the test, the procedure will be:

  • After going to the Speedway NZ web site to complete their online licence they can then click on the link or go directly to motorsportsafety.co.nz to see the details of how to complete the online test.
  • Once the competitor has signed up with their details including track and class etc the fee of $30.00 payable to complete the test can be paid online by credit card or PayPal.
  • Upon completing payment the competitor will be directed to the Midas SNZ online courses section where the correct test for the competitor’s main class i.e. Bike, Open Wheel section etc can be selected.
  • The course is made up of a number of modules each having a series of multi choice questions to answer.
  • They must complete each module before moving to the next. The test should take no more than thirty minutes to complete.
  • Once they have completed and passed all modules an email will go to Midas SNZ to enable their licence application to be completed.
