Please accept my sincerest apologies for the huge delay in releasing much anticipated Technical Rule Changes.

As you will be well aware by now Speedway NZ along with numerous other businesses across the country have suffered and continue to suffer a catastrophic failure with our Information and Communication Technology over the past week.

This has resulted in us having no access to the company data servers and therefore have been unable to release the Tech Rule Changes held therein.

Further to this the Offices emails were not reinstated until Tuesday evening at 1700hrs meaning anything emailed to the office between Monday morning and COB Tuesday evening did not reach us.

As of 1300hrs today the office internet has been reinstated while the tech boffins work hard to restore the phone system over the weekend.

After an arduous week of hounding the ICT “experts”, we have today collected some crucial files extracted from our data and are relieved to now be able to release the long overdue Technical Rule Changes through the website.

Although we are still unable to access our data we have been assured throughout the week, that it is secure with our providers while undergoing rigorous testing to ensure it has not been corrupted. We have also had to log the incident with the Office of the Privacy Commission and been informed that, the GCSB is investigating the matter.

Please rest assured that members personal data is absolutely secure as this is kept completely separate through a totally different provider.

If you sent urgent emails requiring attention eg: AGM & Awards registrations between Monday & Tuesday I ask that you please resend these as we have no way to recover them.

I can only apologise to you all for this fiasco and trust that you understand we have been working closely with the agencies involved to rectify this unfortunate situation.
