Message from the President
  Published: 18/06/2015
Last weekend saw the 2015 Speedway New Zealand AGM held in Wellington. A lot of work was put in by a lot of people after a tough year in many respects, and I feel we achieved a great deal over two long days on the Friday and Saturday.

Saturday night saw the 20th Anniversary of the New Zealand Speedway Awards. The night exceeded all my expectations, and the Promotional Team deserves all the credit for its success.

Since then I have been advised by our CEO, Tim Savell, of his intentions to move on to other challenges after just over seven years in the role. His last day will be July 10th. Tim has been a huge asset to the sport of speedway in this country, and will be sorely missed. He may however still be involved in some capacity from his new base, which is likely to be overseas, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours.

Speedway New Zealand will continue, Tim Savell will continue, and while they now head down separate paths they will forever remain linked in many respects.

David Jones
President-Speedway New Zealand

Bob Wells Remembered
  Published: 9/04/2015
It is with sadness that Speedway NZ has learned of the passing on Tuesday of Bob Wells, a long time stalwart of the sport and former Board member of the organisation. In addition to spending 8 years as a Director from 1986 to 1994, Bob was a pillar of the motorcycle and Western Springs speedway communities, as well as being heavily involved with Motorcycling NZ. He also served as a Steward at both Western Springs and Rosebank during the 1990's.

On behalf of the sport, Speedway NZ would like to extend its condolences to Bob's family and friends.
