    Welcome to Speedway New Zealand

Licence and Win with Speedway NZ!   Published: 1/09/2010
The 2010/11 season is officially here, with the first speedway track ready to practice this coming weekend, and competitor licensing/greensheeting now underway at a number of venues. Online licensing is also available right here on the Speedway NZ website.

Speedway NZ is keen to make the licensing process as easy as possible for both competitors and officials, so to encourage online licensing we've increased the payment options available to include internet banking and we're also giving away over $1,800 in prizes. This includes x2 LCD TV's, plus Speedway DVD's and licence refunds - a total of 14 chances to win.

Currently you can obtain a licence to contract at 18 of the Speedway New Zealand tracks, with more to follow as the respective promotions submit their paperwork for the 2010/11 season... Read On...

    Kihikihi/Fidelity Fund Update
      Published: 27/08/2010
In the August update (issued August 10) it was noted that Kihikihi Speedway had its membership of Speedway NZ suspended due to successful claims for unpaid prizemoney from competitors to the Fidelity Fund.

We can now advise that Kihikihi have met their obligations to the fund in full, and the suspension imposed on the track has been lifted from today (August 27).

With the new season about to roar into life this is a welcome boost for the sport, and we wish Kihikihi and all other tracks a successful summer of racing in 2010/11.

    Junior Rider Excels Overseas

    Published: 28/07/2010

Anthony Knowles is a 15 year old Solo competitor from Christchurch, who recently represented New Zealand at the FIM Youth Gold Trophy event in the Czech Republic. This is a new event for 250cc riders under the age of 17, and will hopefully progress to a full World Junior Championship.

SNZ offers a modest travel grant to competitors heading overseas, and part of the requirements for the funding is submission of a report on the trip. Anthony's report is reproduced below, as it is an excellent overview of the trials and tribulations that competitors face when they head overseas. Hopefully others are insprired to follow in his footsteps... Read On...
